Making Disciples (September 2017 Newsletter)
So, I've decided to switch from blogger to here for my newsletters!! I figured it would be a lot nicer to just have everything in one place, now that Operation: Worth has a website and all with a blog feature. PLEASE let me know what you think of the change by sending an email or commenting on Facebook, whichever is to your liking. Like, pretty please with a cherry on top. And sprinkles.
This month, we started up our kids discipleship program!! It's something that has been on my heart for a while. The Saturday kids club that we do is great, but I wanted to do something more serious and really dig deep into God's Word. I wanted the kids to really get a chance to see what following Christ is really about. We do this on Saturdays, too, but many of the kids take the seriousness away from it all by joking around or with the games. With this discipleship program, we get the chance to talk more in-depth about each verse that the kids learn weekly, and we have a time to really be intimate with Jesus and get to really know Him for who He really is.
Currently, we are learning about the plan of salvation!! We're going through the colors of the salvation bracelet (great tool, btw) and discussing each topic and verse one-by-one so that the kids can understand what each thing really means and can be able to explain it fully, as well. Part of this discipleship program is that we will be going out every two months and evangelizing on the streets, telling others what we've learned in class!! God has some huge plans for these kids!! Please pray for Danitza, Alex, Fernando, Juan Carlos, Gabriel, Gadiel, and Joselyn (not pictured) that God helps them truly understand who He is and that they can be bold for Him in all that they do!!
I wanted to take a minute and share a little bit about Juan Carlos. He lives with his mom, dad, and four younger brothers in a two-room house. He's a very sweet kid. He really tries his best in everything that he does. Lately, though, he's been acting up a bit. He's been talking back a lot in class, fighting a little too much with the other kids, and not really caring anymore about what he does. The devil has been attacking him hard with
discouragement and laziness, and it's affecting him a lot. Please pray that Juan Carlos can understand what's happening, grow closer to God, and resist the temptation of fighting or being disrespectful. Pray that God continues to give me the words to say to help Juan Carlos change his ways and look for the peace and joy that can only be found in Jesus.
Ignore this photo here. It won't go away. Idk why.
